The Â鶹ֱ²¥ School of Nursing is widely recognized as a pioneer in nursing
education. Its more than 80 years of rich, innovative history includes Pennsylvania's
first BSN program in 1937 and the nation's first online PhD in Nursing program in
1997.
The School of Nursing continues to shape the future of nursing through the creation
of evidence-based undergraduate and graduate curricula that is collaborative and flexible,
and responsive to industry and technology needs. As part of the curricula, all undergraduate
and graduate nursing students have an opportunity for immersive and cultural experiences
through our study abroad programs.
We also value the teacher-scholar model. Our faculty are active in scholarship and
research activity as well as in the supervision of student research. There has been
significant growth in faculty scholarly grants in recent years, with notable strides
made in the number of peer-reviewed publications.
