Internships
Our Paralegal Institute offers internships in various areas of the law for elective credit. Internships are available during daytime hours. To earn elective credit toward their certificate, students must:
- Successfully complete sixteen (16) hours per week for ten (10) weeks
- Complete and submit assigned projects and a portfolio
- Have a minimum 2.75 GPA
- Have completed certain prerequisite courses
Supervised by a licensed, practicing attorney the student will be both an observer and a participant in the operation of the assigned office.
Placement Assistance
Law firms, businesses and government agencies contact the Institute seeking candidates for vacancies. These jobs are posted within the Institute’s internal Canvas site for students and shared with graduates via email. Graduates can email paralegalFREEDUQUESNE to be added to this email list.
Students and graduates are also encouraged to work with Â鶹ֱ²¥â€™s Center for Career Development, careerdevelopmentFREEDUQUESNE or 412-396-6644. The office uses a platform called which allows students to search for a variety of opportunities.
