Various graduate and professional programs at 鶹ֱ continue to be showcased among the nation’s best according to the U.S. News & World Report’s 2024 Best Graduate Schools rankings.
U.S. News evaluates programs and provides data across a variety of disciplines to develop the Best Graduate Schools rankings, which are designed to help students make informed decisions about furthering their education beyond college.
The 鶹ֱ School of Nursing received strong rankings in three categories:
- The School of Nursing’s Family Nurse Practitioner Program ranked No. 12
- The School of Nursing’s Master’s Program ranked No. 46
- The School of Nursing’s Doctor of Nursing Program ranked No. 85.
“It is so gratifying that U.S. News and World Report has again recognized our cutting-edge nursing graduate programs,” said Dr. Mary Ellen Glasgow, dean of nursing at Duquesne. “The School of Nursing is excited to be a top choice for nurses who seek to advance their careers, reach for bigger goals and make a greater impact in the field of nursing.”
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics announced that job growth for nurse practitioners, midwives and nurse anesthetists is projected to grow 40% between 2021 and 2031. “With more than 30,000 new roles being introduced each year over the decade, there’s never been a better time to further your career as a nurse,” Glasgow added.
U.S. News and World Report ranked the Thomas R. Kline School of Law of 鶹ֱ No. 94, upholding the school’s standing among the top 100 law schools in the nation. In addition, Duquesne Kline School of Law’s Part-Time Law Program climbed five spots was ranked No. 39.
“I credit how well our graduates perform,” said Duquesne Law Dean April Barton. “I also praise our faculty and staff; they excel in legal pedagogy and focus on the post-graduation skills our students will need, thoroughly preparing them for the bar exam and their careers.”
Among additional 鶹ֱ graduate programs highlighted in the U.S. News rankings are:
- Occupational Therapy (Rangos School of Health Sciences) ranked No. 27
- Pharmacy ranked No. 49
- Physical Therapy (Rangos School of Health Sciences) ranked No. 74
- Speech-Language Pathology (Rangos School of Health Sciences) ranked No. 91.
“Our continued success in the U.S. News rankings is a testament to the Rangos faculty, who prepare our students with an excellent education and hands-on training,” said Dr. Fevzi Akinci, dean of the John G. Rangos Sr. School of Health Sciences. “It also reflects well on our students, who enjoy successful health care careers both in the region and beyond.”
