Biography
Tasha Wheeler joined Â鶹ֱ²¥ School of Nursing as a critical care clinical instructor in the fall of 2015. She earned her BSN from St. Francis College of Loretto and completed her MSN with a focus in nursing education from Waynesburg University in 2018. Ms. Wheeler is a certified critical care nurse with more than 20 years' experience working in the intensive care setting. She worked in Nursing Simulation at Duquesne and also has been educating nurses in the didactic setting since 2019.
Ms. Wheeler has a special interest in improving patient safety. Her capstone at Waynesburg University focused on the Initiation of a Capnography Monitoring Program to Improve Patient Safety while receiving patient-controlled analgesia in the hospital inpatient setting. She is a member of the Three Rivers Chapter of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, and she has been CCRN certified since 2019.
Ms. Wheeler demonstrates a dedication for educating nursing students and developing fundamental critical thinking skills. Her course responsibilities include Critically Ill Adult and Adult Health. She also remains currently employed in the intensive care setting at Allegheny General Hospital.
