    Biography

    Professor Emeritus Raymond Sekula is a distinguished legal scholar and educator with an illustrious career spanning over four decades. From academia to arbitration, he has made significant contributions to the legal profession, earning numerous accolades and recognition for their exemplary service and dedication.

    Professor Sekula holds an impressive academic background, with degrees from prestigious institutions including a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (B.S.B.A.) in Accounting from Â鶹ֱ²¥ in 1962, a Juris Doctor (J.D.) with Law Review distinction from The Thomas R. Kline School of Law of Â鶹ֱ²¥ in 1965 and an LL.M. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1966.
    Professor Sekula has been an integral part of the Thomas R. Kline School of Law of Â鶹ֱ²¥ Faculty, serving in various capacities as Assistant Professor of Law (1968-1969), Associate Professor of Law (1969-1970), Professor of Law (1970-2013), Chairman of the Law School Admissions Committee (1982-2005), Associate Dean of the Law School (1994-2005) and Acting Dean of the Law School (2005).
    Throughout his tenure, he has actively contributed to numerous university and law school committees, demonstrating a commitment to academic excellence and institutional growth.

    Professor Sekula’s dedication and service have been recognized through several prestigious awards, including the Thomas R. Kline School of Law of Â鶹ֱ²¥â€™s Alumnae Centennial Award for Outstanding Services (2011), Distinguished Alumnus Award from the Thomas R. Kline School of Law of Â鶹ֱ²¥ Alumni Association (2004), the Westmoreland County Community College Award for Outstanding Services as the first Chairman of the Board of Trustees (1970-1974) and the Pennsylvania Fraternal Order of Police Award for Outstanding Services (1970).

    In addition to his academic endeavors, he has amassed a wealth of experience in legal practice and arbitration as Professor of Law at Â鶹ֱ²¥ School of Law (1968-2013), Acting Dean and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at Â鶹ֱ²¥ School of Law, Counsel at West Penn Power Co. (1967-1968), Associate at Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote (1966-1967) and Instructor at the University of Virginia School of Law (1965-1966).

    Professor Sekula has also served as an arbitrator and mediator for over four decades, handling a diverse range of cases and earning a reputation for fairness and expertise. He is an active member of the legal community, holding memberships in both the Westmoreland County Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association.

    He is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and holds licenses to practice in various federal courts, including the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, the U.S. 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
