Biography
John Russo is the Associate Director of the Center for Excellence in Supply Chain Management at the Palumbo-Donahue School of Business. He is also an adjunct professor, teaching courses in Operations and Supply Chain Management and Information Systems.
As part of his Center responsibilities, he coordinates a mentorship program for supply chain undergraduates, works with students on the Duquesne Supply Chain Council (DSCC), and leads the academic partnership with ASCM.
John coordinated with University Alliance to integrate SAP into the supply chain management curriculum and created a certificate award for students who take SAP-related courses.
After studying Mathematics at Â鶹ֱ²¥, John began his career with the Elliott Company, a turbine and compressor manufacturer. He worked there for 42 years.
During his time in operations, John held numerous management positions including production control, inventory control, purchasing, field service, business analyst, process innovation manager, and cost reduction leader.
Some of his major accomplishments include serving on or project managing software implementation teams for five major implementations from 1994 to 2018: Computer Associations CAS (ERP), Oracle Application Systems (ERP), Epicor Vantage (ERP), Kronos (time reporting), and Windchill (engineering product life cycle management system). In 2015, he spent four months working abroad in England on a system implementation for a European business division.
During nearly 20 years working with ERP software, John supported, documented and taught in areas of MRP, work in process, inventory, bills of materials, routings, time reporting, and purchasing.
John lives in North Huntingdon with his wife Mary, who is a graduate of Duquesne's School of Education. They have three daughters.
