Biography

Adam T. Wasilko is the Dean of Students and Associate Vice President for Student Life at Â鶹ֱ²¥. He is a key figure in the on-boarding process of the new students at Duquesne and oversees much of our students’ out of the classroom experience. Dr. Wasilko also oversees the Center for Student Involvement, which includes: Brother Keating Food Pantry, Commuter Affairs, Disability Services, Freshman Development, Greek Life, Orientation, Parent Relations, Programs and Leadership, Student Life Assessment, Student Organization Services, Union Operations and the Summer Leadership Academy. He is also the advisor to our Student Government Association and New Student Orientation program.

In addition to these roles, he serves on the University’s executive retention steering committee, Student Conduct Board, Bridges committee, President’s Diversity Advisory Board, Support Council, and First-Generation Students committee among others. He also serves on the editorial board of the International Journal of Information and Communication Technology Education. Dr. Wasilko also teaches a General Chemistry Laboratory class and the occasional cycling class in the campus recreation center.

Dr. Wasilko is passionate about the University mission and Spiritan Charism, and has served as a Spiritan Lay Associate. You can often find him presenting on the mission at new student orientation, new hire orientation, or running workshops to help students find their personal mission. He runs a co-curricular trip to Tanzania to support and visit the Spiritan missions in East Africa. Dr. Wasilko has recently contributed to the Spiritan Horizons Journal with an article of the life of Spiritan founder, Claude Poullart Des Places.

A native of Pittsburgh, Dr. Wasilko is also the co-president of the Regent Square Civic Association. He has served in prior roles with Residence Life, the Honors College, Freshmen Development, Disability Services, Greek Life, Academic Affairs, and Student Involvement.
