Navigating the Nexus: A Pain and Addiction Certificate Program combines aspects of pain management, substance use disorder (addiction), drug diversion prevention and illicit substances into one cohesive, dynamic, self-paced 10-contact hour educational experience. This ACPE-approved certificate program consists of a pre-assessment, seven modules, interactive case studies and a comprehensive learning assessment.
 
Pain management and substance use disorder (addiction) are two of the most pivotal medical conditions affecting our entire nation today, ultimately with an American dying every six minutes from a drug overdose. 
 
This program will equip you with the knowledge and skills to best meet the needs of not only patients across our country, but society in general. Completing this certificate program will best equip pharmacists to improve and literally save lives in the realms of pain management, substance use disorder (addiction), drug diversion and drug overdoses.

Faculty

Mark Garofoli, PharmD, MBA, BCGP, CPE is the Director of Experiential Learning, a Clinical Assistant Professor and a Clinical Pain Management Pharmacist with West Virginia University School of Pharmacy in Morgantown, WV. In addition, Dr. Garolfoli serves as faculty for the West Virginia University School of Medicine Pain Fellowship, and serves as a West Virginia University Medicine Pain and Addiction pharmacist.
