The award process for prospective graduate music students is unique to the school of music. Students pursuing an Artist Diploma (AD) or Master of Music (MM) in Performance are eligible for two types/phases of awards that combine together to form your total award package.
Notice: Graduate applicants pursuing the Master of Music Therapy (MMT) or the MMT Equivalency are not eligible for performance awards or graduate assistantships. However, all MMT and MMT Equivalency students are automatically considered for a 25% tuition remission benefit upon admission.
Performance Award

These awards are based on the performance merits of your audition as well as academic
history and typically range from 20-50% tuition coverage. Performance Award offers
are made at the time of acceptance. Award recipients are expected to perform in at
least two major ensembles each semester.
Graduate Assistantship
Award Phase 2:
Graduate Assistants receive tuition remission (ranging in value, up to a maximum of
100%) in exchange for academic service to the school. Assistantship positions and
responsibilities range from tutoring and coaching, to assisting ensemble directors
and providing administrative support. All positions are designed to connect you to
unique and invaluable professional experiences working with students, faculty, and
staff.
