Diversify Your Thinking
As a liberal arts student, you are challenged to excel in your chosen major and minor
course studies, and encouraged to explore other subject areas. Our course requirements,
known as our College Distribution, enable you to expand your knowledge by taking courses
outside your comfort zones to compare broader themes across the Liberal Arts. Your
professors will dare you to diversify your thinking to gain a wider worldview that
will prepare you for any career after graduation. You will learn to think, write and
speak clearly and critically, so you can seek truth about God, yourself, and society,
and contribute to your families, communities, businesses and professions.

students begin college before they decide on a major, and many students change their
major at some point in their academic journey. Our Discover students have the opportunity
to diversify their thinking through multiple subject areas to determine which of those
areas they find most fulfilling.

Expand your horizons by combining multiple areas of interest to help you achieve your
bigger goals and fulfill your sense of purpose.
I'm a part of a Catholic Climate Covenant pilot where we will explore how we can best
care for the environment through reflection, scripture, and conversation. I love that
I can use my political science major to view this from a policy point of view and
can also use my Catholic studies knowledge to offer a more religious perspective on
how to best care for creation. Blending these two together definitely makes for a
multifaceted approach when looking at environmental issues.
My American Politics and Policy concentration within my major gave me the opportunity
to work on the gubernatorial campaign for Josh Shapiro. Having this concentration
felt daunting at first, but it has been worthwhile as it has helped me to broaden
my educational and professional opportunities.
